Cos’è un cuscinetto orientabile a rulli?

I cuscinetti orientabili a rulli abbinano una elevata capacità di carico alla possibilità di auto-allinearsi alla deformata dell’albero. Questo tipo di cuscinetti è adatto per applicazioni a velocità medio basse che comportano carichi pesanti o ad impatto: sono a doppia fila capaci di reagire a carichi combinati radiali ed assiali. Utilizzano rulli dal profilo a botte e la geometria interna sferica della pista esterna consente un certo disallineamento tra l’albero e l’alloggiamento. Mentre presentano una capacità di carico e di resistenza all’impatto senza eguali, hanno invece un range di velocità di impiego limitato, che può venir esteso con specifici accorgimenti. L a costruzione della gabbia che separa i rulli è particolarmente accurata per ottenere la massima funzionalità. Secondo alcune stime questi cuscinetti hanno il doppio della durata di quelli convenzionali.
