Recently we published a paper on the importance of the proper validation of bearings for the Automotive repair/maintenance application, in BearingNews. The main focus in that paper was on the "bearing design" validation. In the latest paper the focus is on the importance of proper "bearing manufacturing" validation.
This year’s HannoverMesse was visited by more than 215,000 visitors including ~40% international attendants joining this industrial fair with ~6500 global exhibitors. Among those exhibitors was JTEKT/Koyo with a booth in hall 22 displaying its latest bearing products and related technologies. As usual Koyo’s booth was well visited by industry experts, branch representatives, the press, students and other interested attendants. Among those visitors were several valued Koyo distributors, including Künemund, Kugellager Premium, Mondial, Ditzinger, Dono, PWO, Ubex, HL Group, Enso and others, that attended our cocktail drink on the Wednesday late afternoon to catch up with each other and exchange in a friendly spirit. During the fair our Partner Kugellager Premium invited us for joint visits to different OE customers. The open discussions were very fruitful and will reinforce our strategy to grow the aftermarket business through our distribution network.
This event again contributed successfully to the expansion and intensification of Koyo’s business activities in the roller bearing markets in “greater” Europe and beyond.
A Roller Bearing is really an extraordinary piece of mechanical engineering. The smallest types have a diameter of no more than a few millimeters and are used in dentist drilling devices with maximum rotation speeds of more than 30.000 rpm, while the largest ones are used in tunnel drilling equipment and measure more than 7 meters in diameter, while rotating at no more than a few rpm's per day.

¿Qué es un rodamiento de Rodillos Cónicos?
Se trata de rodamientos formados por rodillos con geometría tronco cónica, ubicados entre los dos anillos (con sus pistas de rodadura), el interior, también denominado cono, y el exterior, también denominado aro. Los rodillos están guiados por una jaula y la pestaña guía del anillo interior. Posee gran capacidad de carga combinada, radial y axial simultáneamente, a velocidades bajas e intermedias. Su configuración puede ser de una, dos o cuatro hileras. Los rodamientos cónicos de una hilera pueden soportar cargas axiales de hasta un 60% del valor de la carga radial, dependiendo del ángulo de contacto. Los de doble hilera tienen gran capacidad de carga radial y pueden soportar cargas axiales en ambas direcciones. La disposición de las hileras, y orientación de los rodillos, en estos rodamientos dobles pueden ser divergentes o convergentes al eje de rotación. En el primer caso se consigue mayor rigidez y en el segundo absorber mayores desalineaciones. Según sus componentes, se encuentran rodamientos de doble hilera con un solo cono y dos aros o dos conos y un solo aro. Los rodamientos de cuatro hileras alternan hileras de rodillos convergentes y divergentes.
